About us

Sharewoop founder

Aware of the challenges that overconsumption poses to our planet and observing that the advent of the Internet has sometimes favored individualism, we felt the need to act.

Passionate about new technologies, we decided to create Sharewoop: a web application that allows residents of the same neighborhood to lend each other objects and provide services

Our mission is to promote sharing and local solidarity. By facilitating the exchange of objects and services between neighbors, we hope not only to reduce the environmental impact linked to excessive production, but also to strengthen community ties.

Join us in this adventure to build together a more responsible and united world, where every action counts for the good of all.

The ShareWoop logo: 三手 (mitsu-te)

The logo of Sharewoop, named Mitsu-te, embodies a symbolic, artistic, and philosophical vision that resonates with the platform's core values. Inspired by the Japanese term "mitsu" meaning "three" and "te" meaning "hands," Mitsu-te represents three hands forming a circle around a central object. This design goes beyond aesthetics: it conveys concepts of sharing, community connection, and harmony between individuals and their resources.

Symbolism and Philosophy

Mitsu-te is deeply rooted in Shinto and Buddhist philosophies. In these traditions, the circle symbolizes unity, interdependence, and universal harmony. By forming a perfect circle, the three hands express a concept of continuity and balance: every Sharewoop user contributes to the cycle of sharing, strengthening a chain of solidarity. The circle also refers to the ensĹŤ in Zen Buddhism, a symbol of enlightenment and inner balance, reminding us that sharing objects and skills is a meaningful act with social impact.

The Central Object: A Symbol of Circulation

The object placed at the center of Mitsu-te is no coincidence: it represents the goods and skills exchanged on the platform. This central positioning reflects the idea that objects circulate among users, creating a virtuous and sustainable cycle. Inspired by the Buddhist mandala and the wheels of life, this rotational concept suggests a continuous and respectful flow of resources, where each item finds new purpose and contributes to collective well-being.

Artistic Choices

The choice of a clean and organic design for Mitsu-te aims to highlight universal and inclusive forms. The gentle curves and interwoven shapes create a timeless logo that can visually resonate in diverse contexts. The white color, often used on dark interfaces, evokes the simplicity and purity of the Sharewoop community’s intentions, creating a strong contrast that captures attention while remaining soothing and harmonious.

Mitsu-te: An Invitation to Community

Thus, the Mitsu-te logo embodies Sharewoop's mission: to promote a responsible and supportive sharing economy that respects resources and individuals. This symbol inspires members to connect, exchange, and participate in a cycle where everyone benefits from the reuse and sharing of goods. Mitsu-te is much more than a mere logo; it is an invitation to experience sharing, explore a new way of consuming, and engage in a community where every action matters.
In essence, Mitsu-te reflects the philosophy of a platform that encourages the pooling of resources and expertise. Rooted in principles of harmony and continuity, this logo becomes a symbol of human connection and commitment to a more sustainable and supportive future.

Powered by Joomla!

ShareWoop chose the open-source CMS Joomla for its flexibility, robustness, and ability to meet the unique needs of our sharing platform. Here are the main reasons behind this strategic choice:

1. Open Source and Active Community

As an open-source CMS, Joomla is supported by an international community of developers, users, and contributors. This community not only ensures the CMS’s continuous improvement but also provides access to quality resources, extensions, and active support. This open collaboration aligns with ShareWoop’s core values of sharing and contribution, where each member adds value to the platform.

2. Security and Reliability

Security is essential for a platform where users exchange items and skills. Joomla is known for its strong, secure architecture and advanced user rights management, providing ShareWoop with a trusted environment to store and protect member data. With regular updates and active vulnerability monitoring, Joomla helps ensure our site’s security.

3. Flexibility and Customization

One of Joomla’s main advantages is its flexibility. It allows for extensive customization, enabling ShareWoop to create unique features tailored to our sharing platform concept. Thanks to its modular structure, we can integrate custom functionalities and adapt the user experience smoothly, ensuring an intuitive and efficient interface for our members.

4. Built-in Multilingual Support

ShareWoop is a bilingual platform, and Joomla offers built-in multilingual support, which simplifies managing content in multiple languages. This feature allows us to cater to our users’ needs in their native language without relying on third-party plugins, providing a seamless and inclusive user experience.

5. Extensibility and Rich Extension Ecosystem

Joomla has a vast array of extensions and plugins, offering solutions for nearly every technical need. This has enabled ShareWoop to add advanced functionalities – such as profile management – without requiring heavy custom development, all while ensuring seamless integration within our ecosystem.

6. Standards Compliance and Accessibility

Joomla is designed to meet web standards and accessibility practices, which is essential for an inclusive platform like ShareWoop. We aim to provide a service accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities. Joomla allows us to develop an experience that is both standards-compliant and inclusive.

7. Cost-Effectiveness and Sustainability

By choosing Joomla, ShareWoop has also embraced cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The CMS, as an open-source solution, avoids licensing fees and allows autonomy in managing and evolving the platform. This resource efficiency translates into more investment in developing new features for our members.

In summary, Joomla has proven to be the ideal choice for ShareWoop: a CMS that is powerful, flexible, and aligned with our values of sharing, security, and inclusivity. It provides the tools necessary to develop a sustainable, continuously evolving platform that adapts to our community’s needs. Thanks to Joomla, ShareWoop can offer users a high-quality, secure experience while adhering to web standards.
